The recent muster conducted at Branxholme led to the inclusion of a drone in the process. The drone proved to be the handiest tool of the day as it was used to find missing cattle and muster them from water logged paddocks.
Especially after heavy rainfall, a drone is a handy piece of equipment to own and operate. Wet soils and floodplains, often leave parts of a property un accessible by vehicle and sometimes unaccessible by horseback. Being able to operate a drone in these circumstances is beneficial to monitor the livestock but also to receive an aerial live image of the property.
The ABC recently did a story on the success' of drone musters which were conducted near the Town of Rockhampton QLD. Property owner Adrien Lang, used a DJI Mavic drone for his muster with pleasing results. It will be interesting to see what drones and other aerial devices are created to help out in mustering.
